My first impression upon arriving in the UAE was being whisked away in a taxi driven by a woman driver. The attendants at the airport were careful to see that I was given a female driver. I wondered to myself if my whole adventure here would have these same stipulations...single women can only have female taxi cab drivers...but that was not the case. Most of the drivers were from India who were sacrificing seeing their families for a job in the UAE. I wondered if it was worth not seeing ones family for any kind of a job.
