Subways in London
It's fun to stand up in them and try not to fall down, it's fun to try find a place to sit, it's fun to look at all the different people and try to guess what they are thinking, it's fun to gather up all your stuff when a voice announces your stop and to push your way out. All these things are fun, in my eyes anyway. But the most fun of them all, is when it's a subway that is very deep in the ground and it takes many flights of escalators to get down or up from the subway. I like these especially, because that means that there are more escalators to go down or up the wrong way! You get so much exercise doing it, and it's such great fun.
I remember once I was going up (the down) a particularly long flight, I was running up (getting very tired because I had already done this a few times) and as I was running I happened to look over at the wall at a movie poster, and I ran, ran, ran, and then looked at the wall again, the poster was still there! I couldn't believe it! I put all my strength to it and slowly got to the top. The next time I'm in a subway I'm going to see if I can find 5 fun things to do! But I fear it will be a long long time before I am in one again, for there are no subways in Iowa.
