Emma, of course you and Emily would be connected! Your love for ALL and your servants' hearts knit you together. I have read Bruchko, and found it very meaningful and challenging.
Emily volunteered in the nursing lab at Bethel every Wednesday evening last school year. We would sit down for a time of sharing each time she came. That is when I really began to get to know her. One day, she called saying she would be late. She was having car trouble and would be taking public transportation from the V.A. to Bethel. Well, that would have taken a week to navigate! Of course, we didn't allow her to do that and worked out other arrangements. But, it's just another example of her level of dedication and commitment. Her life and memory challenge us to live full lives, committed to the cause of Christ and committed to those who can't defend themselves.

I Love the Analogy by: Kari
Thank you for sharing, Emma. I love the analogy of the seeds from "Bruchko" (a great book). We will all miss Emily, but we also know that in her leaving us there will be much fruit as well. I know, for one, my life has forever changed.
I thought I had lost an antique ring and was devasated--I really liked that ring! Then yesterday, as I as cleaning my dresser, I looked into a glass box and bingo, there was my ring. I was sooooo happy that I really had not lost it.
God reminded me then, that I (We) think we have lost Emily, but we will be with her again and haven't lost her permanently, only temporarily.
The other night, a friend recommended, "90 Minutes in Heaven," by Don Piper. Has anyone read that?
Thanks again Emma. I found writing the page for Emily helped me cope with the reality and tragedy.
