Marlow students could be confronted by polar bears on their next school trip as they head for the Arctic.
Six formers from Sir William Borlase's Grammar will trek across a group of glacier covered islands situated half way between Norway and the North Pole.

The science expedition to Svalbard will involve camping and trekking in sub-zero temperatures.
Staff leading the trip have also undergone rifle training in case the group encounter polar bears.
The expedition which includes 13, year 12 pupils and their two teachers, Mrs Nunan and Mr Brownsell will be led by Carolyn Bailey.
The pupils travel to Longyearbenday via Oslo where they will receive polar bear safety training and visit a museum.
On their third day they will travel via boat to the foot of Nordenskioldbreen Glacier where they will set up base camp.
Over the course of the trip they will trek over the ice, up the glacier where they will camp over several nights.
The expedition will see the students carry out several science projects.
