Sarah Milking Goats in Norway

Sarah visited a nearby goat farm when she was working on Ragnar Aarflot's farm in Volda, Norway in the fall of 2008. Here she is trying her hand at hooking up a goat to a milking machine.

Wow, she learned about pigs, sheep, cows, goats, and all sorts of other neat farm stuff.

See her here on top of a mountain. One of her fun jobs was joining her cousins in looking for stray sheep on the nearby mountain.

We all thought she was so very brave to head out across the world all by herself at such a youthful age, (or were we the brave ones to let her go?) but then she'd done some traveling with mom, so it wasn't all a totally new experience.

She was happy to visit and stay with cousins in Volda, especially since the Simonneses, a family of good friends, lived just down the street from Aarflot's farm and also since six others of our family have already visited there.

It's really fun to visit a foreign city filled with cousins. Even the mayor, Ragnar's sister, is a cousin.
