Protester killed in Oman
At least one person has been killed after Omani security forces opened fire on protesters in the country.
Hundreds of protesters took to streets in the city of Sohar, located about 200 kilometers (125 miles) northwest of the capital Muscat, following the Friday Prayers.
The protesters demanded the release of people detained in government crackdowns, AFP reported.
Clashes broke out between Omani police and demonstrators. Government forces attempted to disperse the crowd by firing teargas, water cannons and live bullets at the protesters in order to disperse them.
