Prince Charles urges teenagers to get active
Prince Charles yesterday launched a youth project he hopes will stop thousands of teenagers getting caught up in the gang culture blighting cities.
The Prince of Wales and wife Camilla met hundreds of young people at the unveiling of YOU London, urging more to join activity groups such as the Guides and the Scouts.
Charles - who wrote in yesterday's Mirror that the key to the Youth Organisations Uniform project was more adults volunteering - visited the Docklands Scout project in East London. Air Cadet Alex Dutch, from Wanstead, East London, spoke to him from his canoe. Alex, 18, who wants to be an RAF pilot, said: "I'm keen to join the RAF and told him I think it's great that both of his sons have become involved with the Forces. He seemed committed, particularly about recruiting more instructors."
