Muharraq, Bahrain Park Urged Forward

RESIDENTS in Muharraq are campaigning to have work on a landmark theme park completed after three years of delays.
The first part of Al Ghous (Diving) Theme Park was finished by the Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Ministry at a cost of BD700,000 in 2006.

But the BD2 million second phase of the project, which was expected to begin in 2007, never went ahead. It would have included a BD841,550 first-class restaurant complex and other maritime facilities.

The 40,000 square metre park currently includes only children's rides and family recreational facilities, although it can accommodate up to 120 vehicles.More than 300 trees have already been planted.
