Duane Ose & wife Rena...last of the Federal Alaska Homesteaders!
Ose Mountain Log House I'm an Alaskan trapper who lives seventy miles deep in the bush accessible only by plane. I only goes to town once a year! On The Road by Jason Davis, has a stunning interview with my wife and me here in the wilderness of Alaska. I, Duane, am probably the last Federal Homesteader to have filed, in U.S.A. Our nearest road is 75 air miles from Nenana. You will see a amazing log home built by hand by my wife, Rena & me This has been our home since 1985, made from the wilderness. Rena is my mail order bride. We live the story that others only dream. Prepare for a tour of an ALASKAN adventure from the long days of March to the dark days of frozen winter to the heightened growing season with full sun. It is my intent to take you along with me by way of a photo diary. Be the days be good days or bad. There is fur to catch, wood to be cut, gardens to tend...much work to be done, so come along with Rena and me. Come and enjoy a working holiday at Ose Mountain, Alaska!
